Most likely for an amp - I have something similar in my engine bay (although shrouded) for the sub in my boot. Could also be an odd colour wire for a synergy.

yes the facelift version was probbaly a project drive economy same wheel different badge

Very late ZT's and some 75's had a black "soft touch" dimpled black steering wheel. Much nicer then the original ZT one...
