I have traveled 600km with the unit in the car now, and thought that i should do a update on my experience.
The gps function with IGO8 works great. did not miss the beat once. The only anoying thing is that the voice is really nagging if you turn out of the route. Radio reception is great. I have loaded lots of cd:s onto the second SD card, this is the part i feel is the weakest on the unit. it is hard to scroll down thru 50 albums. A better media player would be perfect. It is also a little bit confusing when you have "navigated" yourself into a corner in the sd card, and to find your way back. My guess here is that it would help if i would have read the manual more. The phone works. i cant say that i agree with those that say that the microphone is great. It is adequate, but not more. I would have liked the "phone" to have a memory of last dialed number. The unit locks itself when you use the phone to call out. Had to stop and turn the engine of to come out of the lock. The units phone part is good when receiving calls. Overall i like the unit. it will take a little bit of getting used to, and not least to learn to find my way around- |

Plenty of mention about the Facilities ............................hardly anyone mentions what the unit actually sounds like.
Can we a have a proper review just on the sound quality please Gents? (my way of thinking is that there's such a lot of Gismos crammed into it for the price, there can't be much room or budget left for the Audio processing, preamp & Output stages in terms of quality)

i have played cd:s mp3:s and dvd movies. I must say that i am not a sound expert, but i have had many cars over the years with different sound systems and quality of them. My amature opinion of this unit is that it is as good as any of the better units that i have had in cars previous. The unit supplies enough power, and the quality is more then enough from my point of view. |

I think Jules was asking is it really Hi Fi or even meeting the minimum DIN standards for Hi Fi.
MP3's etc hardly represent real Hi Fi sound and don't "push" any system. Not seen any True Frequency response Figures to +/- 3db or RMS output and Distortion. What speakers are people using in combination with this unit? Does it have a seperate output (Pre amp) for a Sub Woofer or Main Amp etc. |

Hi all
This thread is getting rather long and cumbersome - can I ask the OP or perhaps Radioguy to start a new thread on this subject? This thread will then be locked. Thanks

Hi Christopher and the thread ,
I hope I didnt step on the OP's toes. I opened a new thread here http://www.the75andztclub.co.uk/foru...135#post506135 I also think it is a good idea as the updated units are about to be shipped and It would be good to start fresh as they arrive. RG Quote:
