Default NEW MAF's

Thought this may be interesting as I knew there had been ongoing problems with some MAF's listed on ebay.
Don't know what present availability is from other sources but these are available from ECP (I think at £69.99)

Hello Dave,
Firstly, thanks for the referrals it really is appreciated.
The picture is taken on our counter. It is the MG Rover desk pad you can see, they are not Genuine Bosch.
For the last 12 months or so we have been selling this particular one. It is German made and the company is called ***** we have sold around 300 and had none back, fingers crossed, and we are now confident to give a 12 month warranty with them. While were on the subject we recommend that the AIR FILTERS be changed at 15,000 intervals rather than 30k. In our opinion, if you keep the air clean you will extend the life of the MAF.
We did get lured into far eastern imports a couple of years ago, the biggest and most costly mistake we've ever made they worked for an average of about 1 month, I think we had every one back of a batch of 100 back within 3 months, I know they are still being sold on ebay, I suggest you tell your members to steer clear of any far eastern made as in my experience they are inferior to say the least, sorry to waffle on but I thought I'd give you some background.
Kind Regards

Just for the record again here is a picture of a Bosch MAF and a copy MAF.

The Bosch one is one the left and you can see that is has the temperature sensor built into it on the side. The copy one doesn't have this and therefore the ECU defaults to -5C when using these copy MAF's. This will give poor perfromance amd especially MPG.

In my view either buy a genuine MAF or use a pierburg MAF from Rover Ron with wither the correct MAFAM or Synergy unit.

When you buy a copy MAF it may be slightly better than a faulty MAF but you will never know how well the car could have drove with the genuine or PB unit.

I purchased 3 MAF's from an ebay company called The Portland Group, every one was a copy and some had the temperature sensor and some didn't. All three were returned.
