Default Knocking when turning

Hi all,

I have an issue with my R75, I get this slight rattle feeling in steering wheel when turning left that seems to be coming from the front passenger side wheel, I had the top strut bearings replaced but still have this problem, can anyone suggest what this could be.......

Classic CVJ wear. These will knock when the car's driven very slowly on full lock, but it disappears as the wheels are straightened. Usual fix is a replacement drive shaft.

Agree totally with the diagnosis. Mine has started doing it on the right hand wheel on full right lock. It is usually the outer joint that causes this, which I think can be replaced singly - i.e the whole shaft does not all need to be replaced as it can be split.

Yes you can buy reconditioned outer joints. Ensure to get the correct one. Each model has a different drive shaft and maybe the outers differ as well ??

According to Rimmer, the outer CVJ is the same for all models.
Part Number is TDJ100590 Current price £73.40 incl VAT for a non-OEM equivalent (OEM is £164 each!). I think £20 sounds too low. Reconditioned I guess, but if a 2-year warranty is given maybe worth a punt of funds are tight.

EDIT: You also need a new CVJ boot which are around £15 from Rimmer, etc or half that from eBay.
Also a new stake nut for holding on the hub. That's another £4 or so.
