Removing breakers yard white paint?

:lol: Before I go to work with abrasive substances, I wondered if anyone can advise me on the easiest method of removing the white painted numbers that breakers yards put onto plastic parts?

Depends on the surface it's on. Solvents can be problematic.

I'd start by trying the old fingernail scrape as it is unlikely to cause damage.

:lol: I'll give that a try first. It's actually on the plastic rear of my steering wheel, and I didn't want to ruin it completely by using something too abrasive.

White spirt will get it off no problem and wont damge the plastic. Just use a load of soapy water after to get rid off the smell.

:lol: All sorted now thanks peeps.

In the end I tried the T-Cut for metallic paint that I use on Roxy's luscious curves. It's gentle and took the paint off in stages, also cleaning up the plastic nicely. It also gave me the opportunity of removing some of the overspills from my recent leather dyeing exploits from Sandstone to Smokestone on the steering wheel, and looks much neater
