Default No pollen filter

I went to check my plenums today and to my dismay found that there was no filter in place over the inlet to the air system.

Will having no filter in place have caused any damage and what can i do (apart from the air con cleaner sprays) use to clean the system out?

Also, i noticed the passenger side top rubber plenum had been pushed inside the bodywork of the car, again can this cause any damage / water to get in the car and does anyone know a good way of getting the thing out (it moves around when you try and pull it).

Cheers

When I went to change my filter after first getting the car there was not one in place either. I gave the plenum a good clean and then got Henry hoover out with a narrow attachment and gave everything around there a good clean. New filter now in place. I don't think any damage will be done it's just that particles and smells will freely enter the cabin.

Unlikely. Anything getting into the aircon/heater system via the pollen filter hatch is airbourne, so nothing to worry about. It will create a dusty interior though.

The upper drain discharges rainwater onto the top of the wheel arch liner, from where it simply dribbles onto the ground. Without the tube, water can run under the body panel where it may encounter an unprotected area. This could start a rust spot.

The lost tube can be retrieved by removing the front wheel and the wheel arch liner. The tube should be in sight. Refit it from the top side of the hole.
