Highline Volume Control Knob Faulty
The volume control knob in the Highline unit fitted to my 2002 Connoisseur SE 2.5L V6 is not working correctly. The on/off push function is fine but the rotary volume adjustment requires that I wiggle the knob a little to get any response but it's inconsistent and increases or decreases volume randomly. There is no tactile turning resistance at all, almost as if it's disconnected from something. Any advice as to how to access the internals of the head unit would be appreciated. Is it an old style rotary switch with sliding contacts that would benefit from cleaning and increasing spring tension or is it a newer type of mechanism?

knob
I had exactly the same thing with the Highline on my 2002. Reebs helped me source a new one in Holland, but that was a long time ago, they pull off. If you ask Reebs he knows exactly how they work.

Frustrating issue! Sounds like a faulty potentiometer to me. You're on the right track thinking it might need a clean or adjustment.
