Evenin all, I get one step forward, then get two steps back.
The other day there was a letter from dvla,I opened it expecting to see my licence…….. no, just ANOTHER letter asking for my dr and name of the name of consultant, both of who were named when I applied for a licence.
So that’s gonna take longer again, then I got an appointment for the eye department at the main hospital in Newcastle.
Expecting to be with the cornea team, well yes but not to be seen until well into August, the wife has read in internet there can be a waiting list until I get a part transplant in the cornea, just to receive cells to help my eye see a lot more once it’s surgery attached to me.
I was hoping to start work in June, but it doesn’t look like I will.
It’s just one step forward and two taken backwards with the result I’ve been given.

Good morning Richard,

Thank you for the update.

Basically the DVLA have their procedures and they want you to be safe, it means you will have to follow what they are asking about, so it’s more reports and more anxiety for you whilst you wait, how frustrating.

Everyone here is rooting for you.

Cornea:

Earlier on this week I was chatting to a retinal eye specialist about a friend who is needing a corneal transplant. He said corneal transplants are fairly limited in Kenya because of poor availability, but in India they are available 24/7 and that’s because when someone dies they have to donate their eyes. The procedure would have to be paid for privately. I don’t know what the availability for Corneas is like in the UK.

Morning all, It's a bootiful sunny morning here & forecast to hit 21C here.

That's a bummer about further delay in your case Rich. I hope some good news comes your way sooner rather than later.

I have a 30 gallon plastic barrel with a screw on lid what I keep the comfrey tea in for liquid fertiliser. I got some out last week to feed the tomato plants & forgot to screw the lid back on, so it was open overnight.

This afternoon I unscrewed the lid to get some out to feed the tomatoes again & was met by a wave of mozzies coming out of it

Bleddy things had got in when I left the lid off overnight There were hundreds of mozzie larvae still in there so I've just spent an hour filtering them out with a micro-mesh sieve & burning them with the weed burner.

I need a swilly as I've swallowed I don't know how many mozzies this afternoon

Good morning all

Good morning Jeff,

Your selfie has got to be one of your best yet, lots of self love, honesty and people friendly, your followers and admirer's will be happy

A great shot of Lady Emma and lastly a peaceful and relaxing sunset, all very pleasing to the eye. Thank you for sharing.

Torrential rains all last night, but this morning it’s the opposite - sunny and hot!

What is everyone up to?

Morning all, Sunshine & blue skies & looks set to be a sizzler today with 22C forecast. Oily mackerel on toast for brekkie.

Top pics of you & the marina Jeff

Morning Phil, I shall be cutting out the sealant around the bath AGAIN as the last tube of "flexible" sealant I got was anything but flexible & cracked. I shall re-sealing it today with some decent stuff, 12 quid a tube.

Morning Phil and all,

We are having a lazy day onboard Lady Emma.
I shall be watching the Grand Prix whilst Ros plays with the sewing machine and more stitching of the canopy.
We shall be heading home after the Grand Prix (cats need feeding) and I'll be watching the last day of the season football action.
Back to work tomorrow

I bet the garden looks even lusher what with the rain followed by sunshine

Good morning Jeff and Ros, thank you

You are fortunate Ros is a dab hand with the sewing machine. I bet those canopy’s are super expensive, you are a great team each possessing special skills

It won’t do you any harm to have a restful day in entertaining yourself with boat and cat life and of course the footie. The locals here support Man United, Arsenal, Tottenham, Liverpool, Chelsea, so there is always something for them to chat about.

The heavy rains and heat has made the forest and meadows extra green, the grass is very high and will need cutting soon. When it’s really high or the forest is teaming with dense vegetation we can’t always see the wildlife underfoot, we are careful walking and never walk barefoot

Have fun
