Follow the link below as to how to lift the rear carpet, it will soon tell you if you have water soaked into the sponge or water lying under the carpet, if its in the rear it's in the front. https://www.the75andztclub.co.uk/for...d.php?t=152526

I’ve just lifted the rear carpet and can confirm that there is water in the footwell.
I’ll have a look at the videos, thanks. |

I am afraid you only have one choice now and that's to remove the seats, the centre console and take out the carpets, clean up and dry the floor pan, let the carpets dry or purchase a carpet from car without a sunroof and put it all back together, if you buy a carpet the whole job could be done in one day or over a weekend, it took me weeks to dry my carpets out, back in 2012

I would say now is not the time to try and sort out the sunroof drains, because our great English weather, but remember check those plenums.

Sunroof Drains.
It is always wise to check those sunroof drains this time of year along with keeping the plenums dry so when you have time check the carpets for water and rod those plenums.
You can use garden hose. https://www.the75andztclub.co.uk/for...d.php?t=276035

Sunroof drains.
Hi Artic,
Thanks for the 1st class picture guide to clearing the Sunroof drains. I will be visiting Halfords for the white connectors and get the job done which will give me some satisfaction knowing that with these inline and secured as you describe all should be well again in the knowledge that any water will not get trapped and will run out without any restriction. Apart from that issue now that I have had my top end rebuild completed I am looking forward to some miles behind the wheel and the sheer pleasure in driving my '75 again. Engine rebuild completed by Mr Russell Walsh. MG Rover Solutions. Borough Green. Kent. and all looking good once again- thank god! cheers to Russell for the peace of mind after a sterling job. Thanks Artic. Cheers Rick' |
