Default Rover 75 CDTi Connoisseur Auto Saloon ... ABS fault and cruise controlt

Hi guys ... my Rover 75 has an intermittent abs fault ... A few years ago the fault was easy to diagnose as front offside due to the speedometer not functioning and was sorted when I changed the sensor.

I have had an intermittent cruise control issue for some time now .... The cruise control just disconnecting in use but resetting on turning back on immediately.

Now the abs light is on intermittently sometimes with Speedo working and sometimes not I have not thought to check cruise control against the fault ... But then I have read somewhere that data for cruise control is taken from the front nearside sensor and I am thinking that maybe the disconnecting was an indicator of that sensor failing.

Could this be right
Any ideas ?

Thanks

Cruise control is indeed the ABS sensor at the front left. Do I understand correctly that your speedo is again only working intermittently?

Sounds as though you still have problems with BOTH front sensors. Probably need another stripdown and a clean of both sides of sensor and bearings , including the distance of sensor to bearing gap check, on the new O/S one already fitted. Failing that , bearings also can give issues especially high milers. The bearings hold the reluctor ring , and need to be clean and working correctly. Rust and debris will collect on these and throw out the signal. If the rings are faullty , or bearings worn , then new bearings will be required.
