Creaks and groans and EHN - 99

Recently I've been getting strange noises coming from the drivers side wheel area. It sounds like a creaking groan and is worse when setting off from cold. My suspicions are a worn bush, but which one is more likely? A drive from Boroughbridge to Leeds via the A1 yesterday seemed to help. She rain like a dream with a shot of EHN-99 (diesel fuel additive)

The outer lower arm ball joint can creak when worn. Sometimes you can replicate it by bouncing the wing up and down.
