Looking at the new T&C's on Auto Aid

The Plan also provides you with an insurance policy which will allow the Service Provider to recover direct from
the Insurer on your behalf (subject to the terms and conditions of the AutoAid Insurance Policy set out on pages
18 to 30 of this document) costs which you are liable to pay to the Service Provider relating to the breakdown.
For vehicles which are 10 years old and over at the time of the breakdown, the first £25 of the cost of the
providing the Recovery Agent to attend to you and your vehicle will need to be paid by you to the Service
Provider, and will not be paid to the Service Provider on your behalf by the Insurer. This applies to all policies
incepted or renewed on or after the 1st March 2023.

Am I reading this right that first £25 is now payable?

Edit: just trawled through the T&C's and it is indeed a new condition from First March 2023 you are liable to pay the first £25 if your vehicle is over 10yr old.

Start Rescue looks good next time Cover for if you are driver or passenger any car £75, no age limit on car. But for spouse included (with national recovery on either policy) it is £105 (Home start not included)

Hmm, that could be a game changer. Are they still charging a higher premium for older vehicles, too?

I might have to look at that. My other half doesn't normally go outside a 5-mile radius, so I might just cover myself.

Default Start Rescue

Just looked into Start Rescue and it does look like a good option.

Also, there is a 17% discount available through MoneySavingExpert via this link

I might be reading too much into the Recovery clause but it might just be 10 miles!

Oooops! Have to Edit. That is for the Fifty-Three nicker choice :-)

Kev
p.s.
How is the discount applied?
