You can buy conductive "paint" specificaly intended to join broken elements of rear glass. . Usual online supplier. It does work if you can find where the scratches have broken the element.

I collected one yesterday from a guy on another group who breaks 75s/ZTs at weekends (some people golf, but hey ). £30, all elements work (I tested it) except the very bottom one which matters not, and the wiper spindle/opening switch etc are all perfect. All I need now is some heavy frost.
