As Ron said, they are beam deflectors. They are for when you drive an English car on the continent. When you remove them, use a hair dryer to warm the ‘sticky’ up on the back so they will come away easier. Then you may find that you are left with some sticky left on the lens. Get some White Spirit or Turps and gentle rubbing will remove it.
