Looking through some old pics and just three years ago I was paying 52.9ppl for red diesel. So it's over two-and-a-half times as expensive now.
The fuel boat Callisto stopped by today to top my tank up and we chatted about various fuel-related issues. Apparently coal will be £80 a tonne more this year because much of it used to come from Russia and Ukraine and that has now been replaced by coal from Australia, with the attendant shipping costs. |

That's perfectly understandable. Transporting stuff half way round the world is a great way to get things we don't have locally..... Oh, shock, horror, we do. But only a little, so it wouldn't be worthwhile digging it up ourselves - I believe about 300 years worth. |

The former pit near me had 100 years worth of coal left when they turned off the pumps and closed it.....and that was just what they knew about.
