Lawn raked after applying moss killer last week, followed by a grass cut this morning. Much neater with the stripes from my Suffolk Punch! The grass is much better than it was this time last year (and I don't mean the "smoking" variety!!!). Still misty and murky. I'll struggle to see my sarnie at this rate!

My front lawns have more moss in them than grass, It's the same every year You get them looking great up until Nov/Dec then come Spring time they've turned into green sponges with the sheer amount of rain we get here.
I usually set the mower on it's lowest setting & scalp them before treating them with moss killer, They look dreadful until the grass comes through again.

Don't have any grass in the garden here and I certainly don't miss it. My parents designed the garden as low maintenance because of their age and grass cutting was always one of my least favourite chores. At the old house one of my neighbours had his grass like a bowling green, even got a guy to come in several times a year to give it special treatments etc.

Weather has changed here. Still pottering in the garden at 7pm yesterday but today its cold and keeps trying to rain. Weather is on a downward spiral with sleet and snow forecast tomorrow afternoon and evening. One of the worst dumps of snow I remember was in the '80s, late March/early April. Railway almost ground to a halt, local freight was virtually suspended, instead we were running snow patrols all over the place, even had to go to Glasgow to get the big ploughs to try to keep various lines open.

Just done my good deed for the day. Wee Chaffinch ricocheted off the lounge window and stunned itself. Went out and picked it up, cupped it in my hand until it gathered itself together again and flew off. If I'd just left it a Magpie or Crow would have had it.
