Default Facia Panel

Hi,i have a MG ZT 2lt diesel 2005.
My question is,on the facia panel there is 1 button in the center, and i would like to add a couple of heated seat buttons for future useage,(just incase i upgrade to heated seats) .I have the switches ready to go in but the facia panel, does it have knock out holes ready in the panel or do you have to drill out and file them so the switches fit or do you need to buy a panel with holes already in it.
Phil.

you can dremel the holes out but its easier to find one in your colour with the correct amount of holes.

Drilled mine out, and cleaned them up with a lidl dremel tool. If you go down this route, don't follow the marks on the back exactly or you will end up with holes too big, just use them as a position guide, draw round your switch to get the correct size.

If you can find a three hole panel in another colour you can then get a can of Dark Rhodium paint (code MVR) made up by a paint shop and paint it to match (assuming your ZT is a Mk1 - Mk2's have the technical grey finish and I don't know if there is paint available for that).

Plan ahead and make sure your not going to add anything else to end up needing a four or even five hole panel.
I wouldn’t trust my hand to be steady enough to dremel out the holes myself, I wish I could though! If you can’t find a suitable panel and don’t fancy trying it yourself maybe a modeller (railway etc) can assist as that hobby requires a right steady hand and they may be willing to help?
