TVR back soon!
TVR are back in business.
If you fancy one for next year you can put a £5,000 deposit on one. https://www.tvr.co.uk/new-car It is good to see a British car back, although in small numbers.

my first thought from Dorset Bobs' picture was Honda Civic but I agree, good to see TVR making a comeback but reliability needs to be good.

That must be the first time I've seen TVR and reliability in the same sentence!

Used quite a bit in the same sentence, but normally has the words " lack of " or " lacking in " as well!

I didn't realise it was back in British ownership, I thought it was still Russian owned.
A bloke I used to work with had a TVR, can't remember what model, either a Cerbera or Chimaera. Anyway, he left it for a few weeks, and the battery went flat, he couldn't open the door to open the bonnet as the door glass needed to drop a little to open, but couldn't due to lack of power. He ended up having to take some panel off to get in to battery, but when he took the bolts out, the nuts weren't attached to anything and fell inside the wing. He ended up spending about 4 months getting it back on the road! |

Is it the Tuscan that has the bonnet bolted down, so you can't just pop the bonnet open? |

A mate had a TVR a few years ago and it was terrible. After 4 months of ownership he reckoned he had never driven it without something either falling off or something stopped working. He had a specialist half an hours drive from his house and when he said how fed up with it he was the specialist just said '' that is TVR's for you''. He then gave him a shoe box and said when a bit falls off just put them in there.
He sold it shortly afterwards and got back almost what he paid for it. He had planned to take it on a European trip or tour but reckoned he would have been lucky to even get the Channel Tunnel. It will be good to see if they can get these new ones correct. As much as it is tempting to make them with all the bells and whistles but that was there downfall last time. A basic powerful drivetrain in a sexy looking body is all they need. |
