You might find a better car in the for sale section andcfir a similar price.

Don't fret about the parking sensors, least of your concerns. You have bought it so you will have acquired it's problems, but that leads to knowledge and experience. You have the summer to look forward to when you can really set to work, but try to start with the ingress of water and the damp.
Good luck and enjoy it. |

I got the train back to Manchester and browsed a popular car website and found a 75 in Manchester and found my 75 which I didn't even test drive and took it. At this point some might say WHAT But buying on a credit card gives you protection and at the price it cost was worth the risk. 5 years later on new tyres and only a few issues and you will see them if you look at my posts and yes a costly water pump in France but other than that love the car but buy a car without issues in the first place. Why inherit someone else's problems that they might already have spent money on trying to fix. Good luck to you but there are some good 75's out there Last edited by Gunnerhavesome; 14th January 2020 at 08:54.. |

thought I would post an update.
we went to pick up the car on Saturday and it looked much better, having had a full valet. the boot opened and first thing I noticed was damp right in the middle of the boot... decided to go ahead with the purchase with a view to reading up on and carrying out the minor repairs re: the damp. Since then unfortunately some of the mould appears to have come back. I have some dehumidifiers on the way as well as specialist mould spray & borax powder so I can tackle that. I will have a look at the sunroof drain and plenum as soon as I get the chance then get round to figuring out what's causing the boot leak. As far as driving it, everything runs as expected. I am hearing a faint noise coming from the left side of the engine bay, almost like a whirring sound, when out of the car. that's something I will need to investigate. |

The rear window clips are known to leak, pull back the rubber under the bottom of the window, and you'll see 3 or 4 clips, these will need sealing Also, the rear light seals may have split and need renewing or re-glueing. Have fun |

well, another update, and this time not good. I found the source of the damp...https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hgN7ZTAyXwQ
there's no way the dealer wasn't aware of this. I think the strategic mats show that. Have to say I feel duped and stupid for not checking this before buying. I have no idea where to start with this. Is it worth asking the dealer to fix it or should we just go for a refund and find another one? |

Hiya
Everybody will have a different opinion on this. I have a lot of experience buying and selling to and from the motor trade. If the mileage is accurate and the advisories on the last MOT are not too numerous and expensive then, in my view, you did not overpay for the car. If I were you, I would complain, IN WRITING, to the dealer and inform him that you are getting the car inspected by a local expert. I would then take the car to Big Russ and get him to give it the once over. Depending on the result I would then insist that the dealer pays for the repairs at Big Russ (which will be better and as good value than anything the dealer can sort) or get your money back. Good luck Geoff |
