Boiler trouble
We have a wireless timer/thermostat for our boiler, last two mornings the heating didn't come on. The transmitter was calling for heat but the receiver wasn't picking up the signal. The receiver has a green light permanently all the time the power is on, and when the heating is on, it also has a yellow light. If the power goes off, then the green light flashes red. This has happened last two mornings even though the power has not been off.Anyone got any ideas why? To rectify it I just take the transmitter to the boiler cupboard, and press the advance button to reconnect the two devices.

Is the system at the correct pressure, it may be a safety cutout?
I use a site called diynot.com for any queries. |

Nothing Clive, the transmitter stays in the same spot and the receiver is fixed to the wall next to the boiler.

Do they use batteries?
Is the temperature drop in the mornings causing a slight voltage drop from old batteries? |

Receiver is hard wired direct to the boiler, transmitter uses batteries, checked them and they were ok, but have replaced them with new anyway. It does this every now and then, but has done it 2 mornings in succession this week

No idea of how to diagnose your problem but we had pretty much the same kind of thing happen just after we moved to our new house, it had a new Vailant combi fitted but still had the old timer which was quite old but was showing signs of working intermittently, we had out the British gas service guy and he said 'it could' be the timer switch that's not playing ball with the combi but couldn't be 100% sure so we changed the timer to a 'HIVE' unit... absolutely brilliant bit of kit.
Not helping you at all really I know but it's an option if you can't sort your timer out. I thoroughly recommend the HIVE gizmo, we have it linked to our mobiles, lights, ALEXA, ( and I'm a proper technophobe). which is a bit surprising... given my 'user name' . |

Make a note of your thermostat (Honeywell for example) and your boiler (Worcester maybe) and do a search for 'pairing'. Some stats need a specific line of programming (basically button pushing) to re-sync or Pair the two items.
