![]() Hi all
The car has been sitting outside for a few weeks so was pleased to take it out for a drive in the sun this morning ![]() I watched an absolutely beauuuuutiful E Type ![]() A quick search of t'interweb tells you a lot about the theory, but on a few sites Rover/MG don't even get an entry in the lookup list. ![]() Out of interest, anyone know how the 75 compared against its peer group cars of the late 90's / 00's ? Anyone even interested..... ?! ![]() ![]() ![]() The early design drawings of the 75, I think, look a bit sleeker than the final production .... come to think of it whilst typing this, those drawings look a bit modern Merc like.... ![]() Happy Roving, all John

![]() I believe Richard Woolley once said the production 75 was close to his original drawing ( not like poor Harris Mann who sketched the Allegro and it was produced as something else !)

![]() Woah ! Now that is gorgeous! ![]() The coupe I saw today was a fairly dark green (not BRG) but not a colour I have seen before. Drag coefficients are not at all important when it comes to E Types, really! ![]() ![]() John

![]() From memory, the first cars to be marketed with drag coefficient info was the Ford Sierra and the Audi 100, both being classed as 'jelly mould' designs.
I'm not too sure what the figures were, but 0.33 seems to ring a bell ![]()

![]() That's what I recall too. Didn't the Audi have it etched on the rear windows somewhere?

![]() By current standards, the e-Type is pretty poor. The windscreen angle is probably a big contributor to the poor figures, but there are many factors involved. I was looking over a V12 recently and my overall impression meant there was no way I'd be in one at anywhere near 150mph. TC Last edited by T-Cut; 12th February 2019 at 12:53.. |
