Suffered block jets a couple of times, local scrapyards visited, and now have two working jets, and four spares snug lying in drivers map pocket if required.

Lol, The water flow on one of my jets was extremely weak, I've just had a look and found the non return valve thingy broken.
I dont suppose someone has one going spare do they, also 2x round fir-tree clips that hold the bonnet insulation in position? |

When I had just a feeble dribble of water coming from my washer jets, I thought I'd have a go at sorting it without removing the reservoir bottle.
If I remember correctly - I peeled back the under-bonnet insulation, then disconnected the water-feed from the Y piece, I then filled the reservoir with hot water (leaving the filler cap open) before using a stick pump fitted with a football adaptor pushed into the feed pipe to pump air backwards through the system, blasting the hot water and quite a lot of "gunge" out of the reservoir. I did this until no more water was coming out, before repeating the process a further 2 or 3 times, until I was sure that only clear water was being forced out. I then refilled the reservoir, re-connected the water pipe and replaced the insulation. I have since had excellent washers. Hope this helps. |

no need to remove the front bumper i did mine last year by turning the wheels to the left and access the wheel arch panel and remove the pump with a large flat bladed screwdriver the filter on the pump needs to be cleaned and you can rinse out your bottle from the top whilst the pump is removed .. its a tight squeeze but it can be done

First post so be gentle - owned a couple of 75's - current one being a 2004 CDTi - really good forum here been spending hours finding cures for common and not so common faults - thought I'd give a little back to this old thread.
Had this blocked nozzles issue, guessed it was a build up of crud and did what I've done on my past vehicles and added a bit of Algae remover designed for fish ponds - bingo it worked and no more problems - never had issues using it before and as long as the problem you have is not with pipes or fittings I would give it a go. |

Revival of an old thread, today I had to clean my window washer pump filter housing after checking why I only had low water pressure on my windows whiping. Clogged filter. Got the pump out, filter out, cleaned it, all back again and works very fine again. Here some images, sorry do not know why they stay landscape instead of portrait but you can see the amount of dirt on the small rubber filter.
Cheers from Holland, Emiel

I had the heated jets which where blocked,,I tried everything to unblock all to no avail. Rimmers wanted £18 aside,,,So to the scrappy I went .. I looked at loads of BMs all blocked and a few 75sblocked.. I had a chat with the fork lift driver and he pointed me to a 75 in the last stages of it life,,it was a low spec car and did not have heated washers... But the same shape but no wires ,and lo they where as clean as a whistle,,and the yard gave me them for free ,,, Job done
