We went to Brecon today and stopped off at Llywynon Reservoir. I read that that the water levels had dropped so much that an old bridge was revealed. I really wanted to see that!
The valley was flooded in 1926 and this bridge (Pont Y Daf) is the only structure that remained. It's almost always submerged, so to see it and actually walk across it was quite a treat! Such a quiet, beautiful and tranquil place. Seeing the bridge, although awesome was also quite sad. The lost communities that had to give up their lives to make way for the reservoir... That's progress I suppose.... View from Pont Y Daf bridge, looking out over Llwyn-On Reservoir, Wales. This bridge is usually submerged under water, but due to the lack of rain this year, it is visible and you can walk across it! by Philip Davies, on Flickr Pont Y Daf Bridge at Llwyn-On Reservoir. by Philip Davies, on Flickr

Not that I like the colder, darker evenings, but it does make night photography easier....

This evening, I "won" on ebay a 10-20mm Sigma lens... Don't tell SWMBO!!
Looking forward to trying that out at night. I don't think image quality will be any better, but will definitely catch more stars..

I figure that it's probably not going to be noticeably different from the lens I'm using now with maximum aperture of f3.5..
