Evenin' all, Well what a lousy weekend it's been! It was supposed to be a fun weekend for our 45th wedding anniversary. I took ill Saturday lunchtime & retreated to my pit feeling dizzy and my balance had gone, I couldn't stand up, I didn't open my eyes until this morning Tuesday.

I dunno what happened it's related to my dodgy neck/back with trapped nerve/blood vessel damage according to my Doctor the last time it happened. I still feel like death warmed up. To top it off our eldest cat 16 year old Ernie had a stroke on Monday evening and when I came too on Tuesday he was blind and couldn't see eat or do toilet, My wife & daughter took him to the emergency vet this afternoon but there was nothing for him & sadly he was put down.

We're heartbroken and my missus is still sobbing over him in the conservatory, the weather has been teeming/sleeting down all day so I was unable to bury him.

I'll bury the little guy in the garden tomorrow, trouble is we've been in this house over 30 years & it will be a struggle to remember where all our pets have been buried.

Really sorry too hear of your loss Ian I know all too well.

All our dogs have been individuals, Milka was quiet and loving, Abbey was sweet if a bit grumpy, she had to adjust to my mother and father disappearing from her life, for a while she wouldn't leave my side. The current two, Suzy is so quiet and gentle, Poppy is a nut!

Thank you Freddie,Phil, Dave, Andy, Steve, Rich. for the kind words. It has been upsetting My missus hasn't got out of bed today because of losing him.

Well it's finally stopped raining and is quite warm now. Looks like roast duck for tea that didn't get eaten yesterday, Gonna flake it up with some stir fry I think.

I am truly gutted at your loss, they so become part of the family, they give so much comfort and affection, we have lost lots of pets over the years and I swear blind they understand every word you say, you can have a conversation with them and the world seems so much brighter, will you be getting another one to fill the gap in your life.

Please can you send some of that sunshine in a Northerly direction Freddie - it's dark grey and raining up here. I'm off to the hospital today - annual retinal eye screening - the one where they put drops in your eye before they photograph them. The warnings include "your eyes will be sensitive to bright lights for up to 4 hours afterwards" - no danger of that today
