Default Inline Thermostat

Hi all,

Not strictly a MG Rover question but probably someone could advise me.

I did the inline thermostat mod to the ZT cdti a couple of years ago and it works a treat. My boys old Fiat Stilo has a similar problem (thermostat not closing ) leading to it running cool. I can't see why this mod can not be used on other cars as long as the thermostat will physically fit. Is there a reason that I should not do this ??
By the way the reason I ask is -----
Renault 5 thermostat around £7
Over complicated Fiat Stilo thermostat around £50

Probably not, but you must be absolutely sure the old stat will never fail shut. Most stats do and that would cause serious problems.

If the Fiat stat is easy to get at then just remove it and fit the in-line one as per the Rover.---
