![]() What are the tyre size options to fit a wheel listed as 7.5 x 17.
Do they need to be low profile for the 75 and will moving up from 16 cause any problems. Cheers

![]() Just to stop this dropping off the bottom...
The 2004 handbook indicates the only tyre size specified for a 7.5J x 17 rim is 215/50 R17 The essential thing about fitting tyres to different diameter rims is to maintain the original tyre tread diameter. Alterning this too much will render the speedometer and odometer inaccurate, which could have a legal implication. There are websites which 'calculate' what tyres are OK for what rims. Another thing to consider is the ride quality. A reduction in the tyre profile is invariably accompanied by a firmer ride due to less wall flexure. Thanks for that TC. I've seen a set of alloys that are listed as 7.5 x 17 and did not know what tyres I would need on them. I am currently running R16's. I did not really want low profile tyres. To move from my 215 55 R16 to the 215 50 R17 only increases the diameter by 4mm or .62%. So I guess there would be little difference to the speedo.
