The clutch and brake pedal switches out of adjustment are the usual cause of the cruise not engaging properly. The adjustment takes just a second or two.

So, went to check fuses...... That isnt like the book.....

I went through every fuse with none blown. I think next is to disconnect the battery.

Same as mine, if I recall it was on the lower left panel. I did remove fuses individually though in the end

On the underside of the panel you 'drop' to get at the fuse panel is a fuse panel layout diagram peel it off carefully so you can actually see it (it's sticky backed and quite tough) and you'll be a little bit wiser (not a lot though!)
