Why are the reservoirs so difficult to read especially the one were supposed to check regularly the collant,it's made of that thick yellowy plastic and I can just make out where the level is are they all like his or is it just mine?

My coolant tank is the same.

I find opening the cap solves the problem

(NB. only open when the engine is cold. Do not attempt to open cap after engine has been running - even if it's been an hour or so since you switched off. The system is pressurized and can still be hot.)

Why don't petrol models have a coolant level sensor, especially with the issues of HGF on the 1.8. There seems to be a sensor for everything else. Diesels have it don't they?

Now that's dedication for you....

I prefer mine being the yellowy-orange, as a sort of reminder that the contents of said reservoir are hot. Although, a not so dirty colour may be more adept. Perhaps bright yellow or red...

Sorry, I have to say it, but what a stupid, STUPID place for a clutch master reservoir! I still have the scars on my hand from trying to undo cap, top it up while bleeding system, and refitting the cap!
