Land rover interchangeable parts kv6 cambelt
When changing the 3 belts, water pump and idler and tensioner I can buy the parts for £140, however the same parts for the landrovers have the same part number with just an L at the end, they look the same but will they fit a zt 190 kv6 as the parts are much cheaper to buy????

So if I buy the said belts and idler etc will they definitely fit 100% as I'll be leaving my parts and car with a mechanic friend who is doing the work. The parts are about 50% cheaper, sounds too good to be true

Yes, but make sure they are actually genuine Land Rover
The problem with cross referencing to Land Rover part numbers, especially on the net, is you will get results from Britpart, Allmakes etc etc. Some makers of aftermarket parts for Land Rover, I wouldn't touch with a bargepole Brian |

James you have a PM regarding parts
What will add is use the thermostat with the lugs as here below, it is more stable than the original, in my opinion, I know this as I had to replace my thermostat after again after 18 months and only about 3500miles the O-rings had gone flat, the thermostat housing was perfect but I changed it for the one below. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/LAND-ROVER...IAAOSwNnRYkxY3 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/rover-75-t...-/141114952862 http://www.allcarpartsfast.co.uk/mg-...ngine-coolant/

Dayco belts are not what I would ever want fit to a car I own.....period.
KITK015527XS is the Gates part number you need to get, and they were the original supplier to Rover, and are certainly the world leaders in synchronous timing belts Remember these components are not the main bulk of the cost of this particular job, but by buying cheaper components can cost a lot more in the long term Brian |

Yes it is best if you or any member could get hold of genuine water pump, I note that the above seller Nick also does the Continental pump you fit with the kits & stand alone. I dismissed them because the reputation of the CD clutch kits ? how have you found these water pumps when you have done the belts ? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MG-ZT-ROVE...sAAOSwZd1VdqiG http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MG-ZS-ZT-V...QAAMXQigBSMJgi There are these as well ? hopefully not confusing it all, they do the gates belts as well, which I recently fitted to my FL2 different engine mind, reference for fact about gates belts. https://www.autodoc.co.uk/car-parts/...g-zt/15943-190
