For fixing the fan, you have a couple of options. Try a motor rebrush or replace the whole shebang with the later 2-speed/aftermarket alternative. It's all written up in the HowTo section.

If you can't find some details, ask here. Some stuff is getting very hard to find even using the Google based search: https://cse.google.co.uk/cse?hl=en&c...WIDA#gsc.tab=0

OK, here are your choices:
  • Renew worn motor brushes. Inexpensive, less than £20. Requires soldering skills and an above average toolkit. Reliable.
  • Replace 3 speed system with MGR 2 speed system. Genuine part very expensive (several hundred pounds) and resistor needs replacing with 'gold' version. Reliable.
  • Replace 3 speed system with Revotec aftermarket fan from club trader Jules. Mid price option. Requires some wiring work since MGR control box should be retained. Long term reliability subject to feedback.

Any questions?

Simon

ill get the front off over the weekend and have a look, will look for the brushes to the motor, i will try and find a price for the new fan kit aswell

its a shame that these old 75's are riddled with annoying little faults, im on the verge of giving up on the 75 and going back to mercedes. ive fixed loads of things on the car but its getting me down now
