Default Intermittent clicking sound

Any one know what this is and why it makes a clicking sound and should it ?

Looks like your purge valve and it's perfectly normal for it to click.

Ho good thanks for clearing that up ,now to find out where the coolant is going had a look in the V and all seams dry

In no particular order: Air locks in heater matrix just surfacing as a result of the colder weather, hoses either perished or loosened as a result of cold weather (particularly if you have worm-drive clips), water pump, radiator, expansion chamber cap. Start with those five and see what you find. Most of the hoses are visible if you remove the air intake assembly and arm yourself with a torch. I assume you're checking that V regularly as it doesn't take long for liquid to evaporate in that warm location.

Had it running for over half an hour while checking the V checked all the pipe work I could get to ,I'm going to take the bumper off this weekend to remove an fix the passenger side head light so might get a better view of the rad then might take the engine tray off at the same time,looking at the history of it its had the water pump and thermostat changed about 6 years ago so worth checking now
