If it is the result of an ecu set swap, this is a simple fix with the right software tools

If you have any sort of weakness from the fuel pumps then parking on that steep slope on your driveway will definitely not help.
The fuel will have an even higher hill to climb than normal and if the fuel in the tank is low well--------------------------No GO. You also said---"No click" ----which indicates a possible starter solenoid problem. Please let us know what it was when you cure it. Good luck with your search.-- |

Thanks for the starter motor tip. This morning 11.8 volts, thought I'd try moving the selector lever a few times first.
Then it started nice and crisp and sharp previous night shutdown was 12.4 volts. From the above replies this doesn't seem right ? Its either not holding a charge or something draining the Battery ? But still starts easily when engaged . With this in mind today I bought a smart charger that repairs ? with lots of other features. Will wait and see |

Would there be any other indication of this? I had it for 6 months not even noticing it. It was a trip to Jules for AC repairs when he pointed it out to me. If this is the cause, is it going to need a new ecu? |

Hi.
The onboard display of voltage will read low without the engine running. On the diesel there is a heafty current drain from the glow plugs and other items (FBH) so the displayed volts will dip below 12v especially as the battery settles overnight. You either have an inhibitor switch issue, poor connection somewhere or the solenoid on the starter needs overhauling.
