Default LED's

I've got a minor issue that's just started with the N/S 5W side light connection, the present bulb is a conventional filament/standard spec. item.
Before I take a look can anyone recommend an alternative zero error LED replacement for the side light and confirm what the temperature colour should be to match the OEM Xenon's fitted to my Mk2 Contemporary.
I've read somewhere recently that replacement LED's for our cars don't last very long (which would defeat one reason for me considering them since front bulb replacements can be a bit of a begger for us fat fingered bodgers). I know the claimed life for LED's is much longer than filament bulbs but is there a fundament issue with automobile applications e.g. vibration

The Life of the LED lamps varies depending upon the quality of manufacture. I bought some replacement for 501's and they were dreadful failign very quickly so ibought some others from a different UK based supplier and they have been much better.

Sadly it's a lottery it seems as to the quality supplied.

I have also replaced the number plate lamps with LED ones and also the number plate lamp and the front side lamps that use festoon type bulbs on the recently acquired trailer and they and much improved over the normal festoon type bulb. Much better light output and much more visible .............. How long they will last is the question as yet to be answered .

The colour temperature of OEM HIDs is 4300°K, but I don't think there are many 501 style LEDs emitting that low. They're typically much bluer. There are thousands of CANbus safe LEDs on eBay, but the only comment I have is that you'll get what you pay for.
