Not sure if your car has leather interior or not, but the cheap valet type workers tend to polish the leather items with stuff called Pazzaz. This Autosmart product and copies of it has a migration habit, thus it can get everywhere. This would also get used on plastics including the dash panel right below the screen.
Leather also breaths so if products have been used to polish up the seats, you will get loads of bloom on the inside of the screen. To remove pazzaz style dressings, I have used a light detergent in luke warm water, and rubbed the rubbish off, then dried. After this, use sparingly some brake cleaner on kitchen towelling and spread in one direction only, note all doors should be wide open, and if you suffer from asthma, get a friend to do it for you. This has worked for me in the past, but not expecting everybody to agree, also maybe worth doing an air con sanitisation exercise too! Hope this helps. |

A bit of an update. After cleaning the screen with panel wipe and cleaning the aircon system just in case it could have been that i have not had any smearing inside. Long may it continue
Thanks to everyone for their advice

I note this post is last years but never mind.
I have just tried a mix of bicarbonate of soda, Eco freindly washing liquid and warm water (didn't record the proportions sorry) to clean my car glass. It worked brilliantly. When dried it left a white layer (as you might expect) like a 'proper' polish, which when buffed off left the glass as clean as I have ever seen. However I await the sun in the morning to see if I can claim total success! I will post the result. -------------------------- In the low sun of the morning I could see some swirls, but not too bad and better than cheapie glass cleaners. A bit cheaper than glass polish.
