![]() Hi all, A couple of questions; I was wondering if anyone knew what were the original brand of tyres were fitted to the 75 in 2001? I know brands changed from time to time, but were generally chosen to match the cars power/weight and ride characteristics.
My original rims are 195/65/15 but of course two owners on and 118,000 miles on, the tyres were replaced ages ago and currently are fitted with Nexen blue ECO, which are fine. However, the front ones will be due for replacement next month and looking around, Avon ZV7s seem a good tyre also at a reasonable cost. So although I'm not keen to mix tyres, would general advice be OK to put Avons on the front and keep Nexens on the rear until the Nexens wear out and put Avons on all round? Many thanks. Ray |

![]() I think one tyre brand MG Rover used was Continental.
It will be fine to put a pair of Avons on the front and Nexens on the rear, as long as the size's, speed rating and load index are the same between the pairs. Its always better to change tyres in pairs, e.g front pair/rear pair. |

![]() I had an unused full size spare form Westonboy's car. I think it is W or Y reg, and that was a Goodyear.
Personally, I've used Avon in the past and been very happy with them but I find Dunlop Sport Blueresponse better on 75 15" wheels. They are noticeable quieter, stick like glue and give a lovely soft ride. |

![]() It would most likely be Contintental EcoContacts which were the OEM tyre for quite a while. Looks like you have Crown alloys and on these the Contis are quiet, good grip and give a decent life. Mytyres do them for £54 each which is a good price.

![]() Thanks for all the replies. It's obviously personal choice but I shall give Dunlops a closer look too!

![]() I'm on my second set of Dunlops Sport Blueresponse. I was talking to my Dad a couple of months ago when he said he'd had 2 tyres changed on his Honda Jazz and how much quieter they were. Turns out his new ones are the same Dunlops as mine. He didn't know that's what I was running.
