Some real muck on the inner face of these wheels

This evening I tried to wash and clean the Contour wheels off this CDT and the inside has what feels and looks like tar all over it and I mean a total covering

. I cannot shift it so looks like at some point these will have to go for chemical stripping before being refinished.

Will try for a photo in the morning.

Try Bilberry wheel cleaner undiluted, or Iron-X. Should solve the problem!

This is what it looks like now:-

The inner rim was also coated but not as hard or as heavily and that sort of came off. Have used about half a can of wheel cleaning foam on these and had a scrub at them with a non stick pan scourer and it just rips the scourer up. The front face is not coming clean in the corners and around the valves either

Just years worth of brake dust thats imbedded into the alloy.

That will need the big guns to get it off. Something like this, but go easy its strong stuff.
