Wheel controls faulty?
I’ve had a steering wheel adapter connecting my car to a couple of different stereos over the last 3 years or so – 2 x Sony, 1 x Pioneer. Fortunately it seems that both makes use the same patch lead.
My wheel controls have always worked fine – till recently I had to do some electrical work on the car, and disconnected the battery. When you do this, you have to re-register the wheel controls with the stereo – normally a simple matter. But this time, it wouldn’t work – I can get Source, Vol+, Seek+ fine; but Vol- & Seek- give an error message. I never use the seek buttons anyway, so no idea if they were working before; but the Vol- button did occasionally cause the station to change, so I guess a problem has been kicking around for some time, but not enough to annoy me. I messed about with it for days, then eventually gave up and replaced the whole Connect2 wheel-to-stereo adapter and patch lead, as I figured that was the most likely thing to have failed. Sadly, no difference. So… what do all you experts out there think – faulty wheel controls, or faulty stereo? Thanks
