Some of all brands seem to last fine - seems more 'pot luck' than anything.

The Febi items fitted to my ZTT 2 years ago only passed on recently, after around 55,000 miles. Mileage wise I think they did OK, but timespan, not so much!

That's interesting, just bought a pair of these Mayle brand ones for mine, be interesting to see how they last. They certainly look well made but that's no guarantee I know.

Also tried the Febi offerings. I still don't understand why the manufacturers of these parts struggle to copy the originals. It doesn't get any easier.

The spanner flats on the aftermarket parts are too narrow, pushing the rubber gaiter off as you tighten them up.

The gaiters are also poor quality material, and don't flex fully, so leave the joints exposed when on full lock. Just rubbish!

In light of the apparent uncertainty of quality, I've just increased the warranty on all of our Drop Links from 12 months to 2 years.

Should help re-assure the masses!

This is the simple reason I cleaned up and fitted new Boots to my original CDTi Drop links ... they are still bumbling along at 135,000 miles .

Exactly the same here - my ZT-T had had one replaced when I bought it but the other one looked original and that was a *** to get off. Angle grinder job.

The other "new" one actually had the top nut loose - not even finger tight - so that came off easily!!

Did the 7mm thread removal last year on some from Matt at DMGRS and removing these old ones last month was a piece of cake. Disappointing that these failed at just over 8000 miles. Both sides have 2mm play in the top vertical joint.

I too have fitted the german "L" brand this time - but was disappointed to see on the packaging "Made in Taiwan"

They have been on about 5 weeks now - no knocking yet.

But I am sure it won't be long.

Next time I will probably fit a set of these:-

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ROVER-75-M...-/201314543177

One of my sons friends has them on his Peugeot and he says the last well as they are made to a far higher standard. His Pug "ate" droplinks according to him but he has had these for two years and two MOT's with no issues.

I will just set them at standard length and see how long they last.

Has anyone on here tried these - or similar?

Well done

I will PM you with my address as you kindly offered to replace mine under warranty - did you want mine back so you can claim from the supplier?

Happy to post them if it helps.

I bought a pair from Matt at DMGR about a year ago and there still fine.
As he said, not the cheapest but seem pretty decent.
