The latest reports are that Mr Shah's murder was religiously motivated. Evil, evil scumbags.

Just been on the news,they have arrested another local man, a fellow muslim,on suspicion of Mr Shah;s murder. All because he wished his Christian customers a happy Easter.
A genuinely nice man then out because someone else didn't like his association with "the enemy".

RIP Mr Shah, you were obviously a pillar of your community.

[B]It all went downhill for the Police when PACE (Police and Criminal Evidence Act) was introduced in 1984 which was all in favour of the offender rather than the victim.

If the police can prove racial predudice then it will be a 'Hate Crime'. What a shame that some people target others because of their beliefs.

Where I work, I see lots of these kinds of charges each day, usually common law breach of the peace or sectarian type offences with a hate crime aggravation. The Criminal Justice system take a dim view of Hate Crime even for the minor offences. If the murder is convicted of racially motivated murder, The sentence will undoubtably be higher than normal because of the hate crime aggravation.
