Default Steering wheel volume controls

In the last couple of weeks my steering wheel volume switch has been intermittent some days it will turn sound down but not up other times nothing then next time perfect. The DD has been fitted about four years no problem.
Any suggestions gratefully received.

I would go into the head units settings and reprogram the controls .
Hopefully that will cure it for you

I might be talking through a hole in my head here, but I suspect much of the trouble with SWC is due to dirty switches causing higher resistance signals than the head unit expects.i found that with the high line HU, occasionally the SWC would not work, or might put volume up instead of down for example, but playing around with the switches quite quickly restored normal operation. (Apart from replacing the switches, nothing else you could do)
With the Navall, altering the factory settings did get them to work, but next time they would be all haywire again. My suggestion therefore is that because the controls were presumably working before, before adjusting the settings, make sure that just playing around with the buttons doesn't have the desired effect.
I have a suspicion that the Navall units (and possibility others) are perhaps more sensitive to the resistances being applied than the OEM equipment might have been.

My switch will volume up but not volume down. (I've got a Symphony).

Did you get yours working?
