What's the entire process from the beginning?
I'd like to shampoo /clay/(polish if necessary) and Wax on a budget.
I don't have anything required yet as the car is new to me. It's a 75 saloon 2005 in Platinum Gold and the bodywork is in really good shape. I want to get it so it's waxed and on going will need the minimum up keep. I've saved the 'best clay details' and 'shampoo' from the forum but need advice on the entire kit and the rest of the equipment special buckets microfibre cloths etc. Thanks |

I will kick off with a what is required list!
2 x buckets 1 with a grit guard 1 normal 1 microfiber wash mitt/cloth Hose if possible (if not a portable sprayer or watering cans) 1 microfiber drying towel A minimum of 6 good quality microfiber cloths (it is useful to have a lot of cloths spare for when you do odds and sods, when you have them you will realise) A clay bar with lubricant I.e. detailer A pre polish otherwise known as cleanser A polish many available with pros and cons to each! A wax same story as the polish! A wheel cleaner Wheel cleaning utensils, cloths, toothbrushes etc. Now you won't have to use all of these each time you wash it, frankly if you do you're mad! I would use these all for one big clean, and then you wash with shampoo, and then sometimes use the polish and wax! Then even less frequently do the whole process again |

I didn't think it was, it's just an intro into thorough exterior cleaning, I haven't gone far beyond this point but there is a lot further you can go if you wish! But like you say you don't need to, personal preference

I doubt the guy's down the road will clay bar out the circles. I'm going to probably do a panel or two at a time it'll be interesting to see it at it's best after a torrid time stripped out with wet carpets and I need to feel good about the car after a lot of disappointment. Thanks for taking the time to write, very much appreciated. |

Does one clay before or after detarring and Iron x
As far as I understand it: 1. Ph Neutral shampoo 2. de-tar /organic cleaner 3. Iron X 4. Clay 5. Compound/polish 6. IPA 7. Nano coating. Would that be the right order? Ali.
