Hello Brian
It's nice to make contact again regarding car #880 now with David at Teesside. Your kind assistance with the T4 to bring the electric rear windows onto the control module, the dash lighting modifications and the fuel gauge fault correction were very much appreciated. Since we last spoke I joined the two sixties, (they know me as dpfs) - and recently posted some images of the car taken within the last few weeks. Recently I have found my way around the club website and have asked for forum help in pulling together #880's history. This is on going at the moment - the members have been very helpful. I recall when we were working on the car that you had an amazing knowledge of the MGZT / Rover cars and I very much appreciate your experience. Please find some recent images attached, (hope the links work): http://www9.mg-cars.org.uk/mgoc260/f...1&d=1444764941 http://www9.mg-cars.org.uk/mgoc260/f...1&d=1444765038 http://www9.mg-cars.org.uk/mgoc260/f...1&d=1444764968 http://www9.mg-cars.org.uk/mgoc260/f...1&d=1444765161 http://www9.mg-cars.org.uk/mgoc260/f...1&d=1444764991 Bye for now David Last edited by david simpson; 19th October 2015 at 16:27.. Hi David, Does 880 still have the rover 75 interior? Was it made like this?

Sorry to be slow on the uptake regarding your enquiry - Car #880 came to me with a dark grey interior with blue panels in the seats. In my opinion the inside of the car was a bit tired and to my mind needed a lift. I know the die hard keep it original members would disagree but I saw the way forward as changing out the grey and inserting the sandstone and oak. All the items are genuine ex factory components and the seats used were electric movement and heated units that had all the wiring waiting in the car, ( the original seats were manual ) this was a stroke of luck. The car is a non se model but it now has electric seats and rear windows. The pictures on this thread are during work in progress so the oak steering wheel, finished gear lever surround and oak dash laminates, ( AC panel and symphony radio panel ) are not shown. Marinabrian has been a massive help in sorting some T4 and electrical issues with the car during the summer. I suppose for the die hards - I would say that everything I have done is reversible. Anyway thank you for your interest and good luck with your car. Regards David |
