Default alternator whine

ever since fitting one of these
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CTVRVX003-...item3a898947e3

I seem to be getting alternator whine

I am guessing its where nothing is properly shielded

I originally taped the unit to the top of the symphony where the low line sat nav panel is

however I dont now think this is a good position

has anyone fitted one
where did they locate it

what measures can be taken to reduce whine?

magnetic shield on the output maybe ?

This is usually an earth problem. It should earth to wherever your stereo does.

You can also look into a ground loop isolator.

Some whine is normal with ICE unfortunately - usually it's not noticeable, but sometimes it is.

I am thinking one of these as it only seems to be on the output from the box

I think where it is amplifying the relatively low headphone input

and therefore amplifying anything that the headphone jack lead is picking up

so try and isolate that

Check your charge voltage in case the alternator isn't over charging.

I know I'm possibly giving advice to those in the know but here goes.
Check all the connections on the alternator and battery for security, check any removed earths. On the radio ensure its properly earthed. You could also try an inline choke or two on the supply and memory supply to the head unit.
