![]() My 02 cdt is cutting out,, when I try to restart it the key is dead, eventually it starts but cuts out again. The "check engine" light comes on for a couple of seconds. The plenum is dry, I have disconnected the battery to see if that resets it, any advice please?. Thanks. John.

![]() The AA came out yesterday, checked everything, then found a relay under the glovebox was loose, fitted it back and it is okay now. He said the reason the key was dead was the starter motor sticking. I went to their approved garage, Halfords, and they fitted a new one under my AA warranty. Excellent service from both the AA and Halfords. John.

![]() The starter motors don't usually stick - the solenoid contacts wear out.
![]() But seeing as you didn't have to pay for the new starter motor when all you needed was a set of contacts it sounds like a good result. ![]() |
