With the ignition on does the oil pressure light come on? If not and you have EP on the gear selector display then could be a problem with your ECM.

Marinabrian does an excellent repair service by post.

Default crank

ok the mechanic is here, he found fault codes which some hes cleared. Hes wanting to know where abouts the crank sensor is on the diesel, does anyone know pls ?

Down behind the starter motor, or thereabouts.

Forget the crank sensor, the ECM is wet

Either that, or your car has the inspection cover missing from the NSF wheelarch liner, and the underbonnet fusebox wiring loom has rotted away

Either way you have a CANBUS malfunction

ok we've had ecu out and its bone dry and theres no water in the plenum at all so thats something.

turns out one of the injectors is leaking.
