Ball joint on the lower arm looks knackered as well... all the rubber is compressed and shredded...

Yup, having the same problem... they're not cheap! I found somewhere that does just the joint of the arm but then found it's discontinued! I find this annoying as the arm itself seems fine, I mean it's a pretty sturdy bit of kit, so having to replace the whole thing just for the joint is expensive....

I'll take some pictures and add them soon.
I would do both

they come as a pair often

I had to modify a spanner to get the top undone (grinding it down to make it thin!)

A mechanic pal of mine is going to see what he can get the whole wishbone for at trade price tomorrow. I will let you know what he comes back with.

I had a knocking sound as front left wheel hit a small rise (3/4") lip entering my courtyard. I replaced front drop links and the knocking was still there Next was Front Lower Arm and Bush replaced and knocking was cured.
I would do both sides at once whether it`s drop links or Front Lower Arm and Bush. That way they are done for a good few years.
Ken.

Thanks Ken, I think I'll look to do both arms and drop links, looks to be anything from £150 to £200 for parts, does that sound about right? I don't mind after market providing they are decent quality....

My mechanic friend found the cheapest price (other than ebay) locally was from Alan Skuse in Plymouth. £60 + VAT without the rear bush.

Cheapest on eBay without rear bush was THIS £49.99 delivered

With bush was THIS £68.49 delivered

Not sure on the quality of any of them TBH.
