I'm a newbie and just stumbled upon this when I was exploring the site a month or so ago. I thought 'that's handy to know' and didn't make a note of it. Consequently spent about an hour this morning searching until I found this:

I didn't phone the 0800 number, I didn't want to human interface as the human could say no. So I clicked the large advert link which takes you to this page:

http://www.rac.co.uk/join/benefits/

and completed details accordingly. All promptly confirmed by email so good to go!

Sadly it looks as though existing customers are NOT included which in my opinion is far from fair. Especially so, as there is a 25% discount per annum on future years.

I bought a walnut handbrake grip from the forum tonight for £55 posted, so almost paid for with the RAC discount saving.......that's how I explained to the other half anyway

Hope this helps.

Default ah!

Thanks for the heads up, was just about to renew with another provider, this discount beats their increased (.. despite NCB) quote, so saved a tidy sum

Now, if only we could get a European breakdown insurance for our cars that was worth the paper it was written on...
