I had an 827 Vitesse G reg superb Honda engine. The later 825 used the early KV6 which was not very good.

As said the early 2.5 V6 had a very bad reputation, as the seller of this car had experienced.

Lovely comfy seats though.

I saw one in the local scrappy not long ago, such a shame, it had no bodywork damage and was complete. I guessed engine failure, but the engine was complete too I sat in it, it still smelled of leather and was like sitting in a big comfy bed.

The later 825s with the early KV6 are just a disaster engine-wise, which is a shame, as swapping an engine from a 75 isn't really viable, I'm told.
I raelly liked the engine in my 827, but didn't find it very comfortable, despite what people said, and found the steering (unique to the 827s) very disconcerting. An interesting experience, but I had so much hassle selling it that I never want another 800, which is a shame, as I liked them a lot before I had one.

Big fan of the 800. But not the first generation KV6 which is scrap.

However the auto box is a 4 speed Jatco and the seats are far better then the 75 ones.

I'd always have the 827, as I've heard lots of bad things about the early KV6 (on forums and in emails for parts alike).
I love those seats, though.

I have a 1999 825 Si in the garage that i bought to restore.

Engine wise is it spot on.......just glass and paintwork to do and general servicing.

Not sure whether to keep or sell though.
