Wireless keyboard batteries.
I've been using a Microsoft wireless keyboard for a year or two now. Last week the low battery light was flashing and the keyboard wasn't operating as it should. I replaced the batteries with two new AA Duracell ones. The keyboard didn't work at all. Put two different, new, Duracell ones in. Still didn't work. Tested the batteries and they all showed a full 1.5V. Mystery! The original batteries were Energizers. Surely the keyboard wouldn't only work with Energizer batteries? Anyway, bought some and guess what - it works! I always thought a 1.5 AA battery was a 1.5 AA battery. Can some wizkid please explain why the keyboard will only work with a specific make of battery?
Chad. PS Yes, they were fitted the correct way round!

if its like mine you have to re-link the keyboard and the reciever by pressing a button on both at the same time.

As said by Wesley, the keyboard has lost it's sync. with the computer.
Resynchronize by pressing the button on the receiver until the light blinks green. Next, the connection button should be pressed on the keyboard; this button may be located on the top corners of the keyboard or on the underside. A steady green light indicates proper functioning. The USB receiver has a button and on the Microsoft keyboard, I think there there is a little red button underneath.

Yep. Did that. Still didn't work. Energizer batteries in and it worked straight away without doing that. So it still comes down to the make of battery. What I did notice was that when I put the Energizer batteries in, the battery warning light glowed green for a few seconds. When I put the Duracell ones in, no green light. Weird. Thanks anyway.
Chad.

It's more likely the capacity of the battery. Some have more 'juice' in them than others. While they are all 1.5v, some might only be 900ma, with others being 1500ma (or similar). And the keyboard might need more juice.
I always put the more expensive 'lithium' AAs in keyboards.
