Paul (raistlin) is the guy that came up with this mod and guided me through the install on my car, since then I have helped a few people do it on their cars.
Latest was a tourer so wasn't sure if it would work on the boot but it did :-) well the glass part but that seems better for loading up a few bits or even checking on your dog on a long journey

I don't appear to have lazy locking or venting but I only really want to be able to open the boot so do I still need to have a T4 enablement?
Great mod by the way! Cheers Gav |

You will need a T4 session, although you can go about it by changing to a mk2 bcu and getting it coded by a t4 guru

You can certainly open the boot with a receiver, & no need for a T4 I have one fitted to mine

If you are talking about opening the boot with the remote, that wasn't an option with a Mk1, Facelift (post 2003) models only. It can be enabled in a Mk1 but only by fitting a Facelift body control unit and having it configured by T4.

The MK2 has remote boot open as default, MK1's can be programmed with a MK2 BCU to activate this feature. I went for the cheap option and fitted the ultimate remote mod.
Lazy locking and venting is a dealer option that can be enabled via T4, the T4 guys at the nano meet offer this for free.

Sorry Steve, my MK1 has remote boot opening by using a transmitter & receiver spliced into the corresponding wires in the BCU
